This policy explains how Quality Engine Parts (“QEP”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you use qep.co.za, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Quote requests and contact messages: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and the message you write, including any vehicle or engine details. We also record which product page you sent the request from.
WhatsApp and phone enquiries: if you message or call us, we receive your phone number and whatever you tell us.
Technical information: like most websites, our web server and website software record your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site secure and working.
Cookies: the site uses cookies that it needs to work, such as remembering your session. See the Cookies section below.

To reply to your quote request or message and to follow up on it.
To arrange and deliver an order you place with us.
To keep the website secure and to fix problems.
To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We only share information where it is needed to run the business: our website hosting and email providers, couriers who deliver your order, and WhatsApp if you contact us through it. These providers may only use your information to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry or order and to meet legal and accounting requirements. After that we delete it or make it anonymous.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use them so the site works properly. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
